Pre-dawn after an overnight rain is a particularly quiet time in this otherwise bustling summer get-away town. Mackinac Island offers plenty to see and do, but you have to get there on foot, by bike, or by horse carriage. The island is only accessible by passenger ferry and is home to the famous Grand Hotel.
